Unlocking Well-being, One Child-Friendly Pose at a Time

Get the kids out of the house and allow our experienced instructor Emma McGovern take over! Our carefully crafted session is designed to nurture your child's body, mind, and spirit, fostering qualities like steadiness, strength, and balance, all whilst having fun. From the gentle Child's Pose (Shashankasana / Balasana), to the playful Downward Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana), beautiful Butterfly Pose (Baddha Konasana), and balancing Tree Pose (Vrikshasana), our Kids Yoga classes offer a journey into well-being that's as enriching as it is enjoyable. Alongside the yoga poses, your child will explore mindfulness techniques, play yoga games and activities. As a reward for all their hard work, a healthy fruit snack and water is provided after the class.

What to expect:

-Fun, gentle movement
-Explore breathing techniques
-Build on listening skills and concentration

According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, yoga may help children manage symptoms of conditions such as ADHD and improve their overall quality of life.

Mindfulness for Kids

It was important for us that our class incorporates mindfulness as it helps children develop focus, self-awareness, and emotional regulation (Who doesn’t want less tantrums?). From guided breathing exercises to sensory awareness practices, children can learn valuable tools for managing stress and navigating their emotions in a healthy way from this beautiful practice.

Breathing Exercises: Tools for Life

One of the core elements of our Kids Yoga classes is teaching children effective breathing exercises. These techniques are not only beneficial during yoga practice but can also be invaluable tools for children to use in their everyday lives. Deep breathing exercises help children calm their minds, reduce anxiety, and improve concentration. By learning to take deep breaths and slow down, children can better manage stressful situations, whether it's a big test at school or a disagreement with a friend. Creating these good habits early on can lead to a lifetime of healthy coping mechanisms.

Engaging your Kids During the School Holiday's

Finding meaningful activities to keep children engaged during half-term or holiday breaks can be challenging. Our Kids Yoga classes are the perfect solution, providing a fun and enriching way for children to stay active and entertained during their time off. Rather than turning to screens or other passive activities, yoga offers a dynamic and interactive experience that promotes physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional balance. Plus, it gives you peace of mind knowing your children are participating in a healthy and productive activity.

Long-Term Benefits of Kids Yoga

While the immediate benefits of Kids Yoga are evident, the long-term impact extends far beyond the mat. By introducing children to yoga at a young age, we're laying the foundation for a lifetime of health, wellness, and self-discovery.

Based on recent surveys conducted by yoga organisations in the UK, it is estimated that over 1.5 million children are actively participating in yoga classes and activities across the country. This represents a significant increase of approximately 30% from the figures recorded five years ago. The growing popularity of children's yoga underscores its recognised benefits in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional resilience among young people in the UK.

According to a survey conducted by the Yoga Alliance and Yoga Journal, more than 1.7 million children in the United States practised yoga in 2017. The popularity of children's yoga continues to grow worldwide, highlighting its effectiveness in promoting holistic well-being from a young age.

Benefits for Mum’s and Dad’s: Connecting Through Wellness

While our Kids Yoga classes are all about nurturing your child's well-being, they're also an opportunity for parents to connect, recharge, and find community. As your little ones explore the wonders of yoga, we understand that as a mum, finding time for socialising and self-care can be challenging.

That's why our Kids Yoga classes offer more than just a chance for your child to stretch and grow. They provide a supportive environment where parents can come together, share experiences, and build friendships while prioritising their own well-being.

According to a study published in the Journal of Developmental & Behavioural Pediatrics, children who practise yoga show improved emotional regulation and reduced anxiety levels. This translates to a more harmonious home environment and less stress for parents.

A message from our Teacher, Emma

I facilitate a supportive, warm, fun and friendly space for kids to learn about yoga and mindfulness. Yoga and mindfulness are such incredible tools to teach kids that they can use throughout their lives to help cope with modern-day living. Kids feel anxious as well as adults and being able to acknowledge these feelings and work through them through yoga is the best gift we can teach our children.

My kid’s yoga classes are friendly and fun; my little yogis can expect a smiley face, lots of clear instruction in a supportive space and fun games. My two children love any excuse to practice with me on the mat, and I enjoy having fun, being silly and having time to connect with our bodies.

A Morning of Wonder Awaits

So why wait? Join us on Tuesday, 28th May at 11am for a morning of movement, mindfulness, and connection. Whether your child is a regular practicioner or stepping onto the mat for the first time, our Kids Yoga classes promise an adventure that's as uplifting as it is unforgettable.
